Tool setting on startup was created by Bassblaster
There is a problem on my lathe with an automated turret style toolchanger. I got the turret itself to work, I am just not able to set the right tool on machine startup.I have the tool stored in a variable, which I could load using M61? I tried to just add
RS274NGC_STARTUP_CODE = M61 Q#4199
to my .ini, but that didn't work...

Why 4199? Is that wehere your tool changer code saves the current tool?
You might need to add that to the VAR file to make it persistent.
How does your toolchange system know which pocket is selected?
To some extent it probably doesn't matter. On the first M6 in the code the machine will either change pocket or not, and the tool number wil be correct.
