Hello, I have converted a Maho MH-C 700 with Mesa 7i77. I installed an Indramat 3TRM2 as an axis amplifier. I tried to calibrate the axes and eliminate the FError according to all the instructions found on the internet. P up, down FF1 up down etc.
Without a travel command, the axis rotates and tries to reach the Pos.Cmd. Controls the servo motor and overdrives, then again in the other direction. Depending on the values in the axis calibration, back and forth faster or slower.
Without the 7i77 connected, I calibrated the axes in the Indramat zero point, they stay exactly and don't run away.
Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem, what else can I measure? I've now spent several hours calibrating, unfortunately without any real success.
I am grateful for any help.

Can you post your hal and ini files?
Are the encoders calibrated properly and the feedback position repeatable?
What size of oscillation do you get? (a halscope plot would be helpful here)

Hello and thank you in advance. I don't currently have access to the machine, I'll try to get it this evening.
The axes fluctuate about 1 to 2 tenths.
I would say off the top of my head
P = 3.5
D=0
I=0
Bias =0
Deadband 0.001
FF0=0
FF1=0.1
FF2=0.01
Encoder scale should fit.

Are the encoders linear scales?
backlash and resulting hunting are often an issue with linear scale feedback

Heidenhain LS803 glass scales are installed. Converted by EXE 602.
Years ago I converted an Aciera milling machine and a 7i43 with glass scales and EXE in combination. However, Heldt and Rossi axle amplifiers were initially installed there; I later converted them to AMC axle amplifiers. I didn't have any problems like that there. The calibration was much easier.

Not sure how you can have a a few tenths of dither with a 0.001" deadzone
I probably need to look at plot to get an idea of whats going on.

Do the motors have tacho generators?

That is wrong for velocity drives, they must spin slowly when there is no input signal.Without the 7i77 connected, I calibrated the axes in the Indramat zero point, they stay exactly and don't run away.

Hello, Indramat servo motors are installed. I think these should forward a speedometer signal to the 3TRM2. Before I did the zero point shift, the axes moved even more. I won't be able to return the Indramat to its original setting because I haven't noted the zero point or the poti setting.
This milling machine has two analog inputs per axis on the Indramat servo amplifier. One input from the control, the other via the original feed potentiometer including rapid traverse switch. I have completely separated this input because I control the feed via Linuxcnc.

Hello, thank you very much for your tips. Unfortunately I can't get any further on the matter. Can anyone do something with the images I sent or has an idea for solving the problem?
Thanks in advance for any efforts
