As for looking for human history, I think, in real world this robots will be used by Pentagon at first time)))) Possibly they are not ready yet for this reason.

As for where pople are going, I suppose that "going too far" become 100 years ago when Henry Ford starts to use assembling conveior.
We live in the world where "far-far-evey" is very near place. And I think people like that.

As to look inside of humans brain - it has same principles as robots are. But we are only BIO-creatures.
All processes of our mind are controlled by electrical currents inside of nervous system.
So if to learn robot think as human it will be also smart and independent.
Today artificial inteligent also developping by different countries. I think we will not see terminator2 and armagedon but smart and independent computers - are very possible.

robot knows no pain, and therefore knows no limits.... I have 1 spinal cord... I am not going to be trying backflips anytime soon....  still can't get it to move by its self by assessing the terrain (yet).

considering we cannot seem to get 9 axis coordinated jerk controlled motion on linuxcnc.... maybe AI can solve it?

No, I think inteligent for CNC is bad idea.
Imagine that you want to make on machine one part and received at finish something else because machine thought that enother one suits you better;)))

Includes the classic "What people don't appreciate, when they picture Terminator-style automatons striding triumphantly across a mountain of human skulls, is how hard it is to keep your footing on something as unstable as a mountain of human skulls. Most humans probably couldn't manage it, and they've had a lifetime of practice at walking without falling over."
