Installing Linux CNC in SATA Hard drives was created by 3kamalakkannan
Hi Friends,
ubuntu-10.04-linuxcnc3-i386.iso Supports in AHCI mode.
Step1: Goto BIOS Settings
Step2: SATA Configuration
Step3:Change SATA mode to AHCI Mode
Step4:Save and Exit
Now you can install in SATA hard drives

There must be some other issue than just having a SATA drive as I've installed LinuxCNC into a dozen SATA drives without changing any bios settings. Is your motherboard really new or old or special in some way?
