Today i was going to try out linuxcnc for the first time as i didnt' have the cash to buy mach. Loaded up the linuxcnc iso onto a usb drive and found out that I could not boot from it because the install woudln't recognize my display driver, an issue that i've encountered before which would turn off your display once install started. So i needed a way to install ubuntu.

I used wubi, a program that lets you install ubuntu from your windows partition onto another partition on your hard drive.

Steps:
1. Download linuxcnc iso
2. Download daemon tools lite and install. Run program. Browse to linuxcnc iso and mount it. (Gives your computer the illusion it has a cd in the cd drive)
3. Run wubi 10.04. Found here wubi 10.04
4. Wubi will find the mounted image of linuxcnc and install onto the selected partition.
5. Reboot and you will now have the option of selecting windows or ubuntu
