Last night I was having trouble installing Master-sim from buildbot. It was saying that dependencies for libmodbus5 could not be installed. Is this something that is recently broken? I installed master a week or so ago and did not run into this. Any suggestions for an easy workarround (easier than downloading and compiling libmodbus seperately)

Hi

Assuming you are talking about the master sim for lucid (latest linuxcnc-sim_2.6.0~pre0.4633.gb64082b_i386.deb )
it does list libmodbus5 in its dependencies

I just downloaded it with apt

If for some reason you can't you probably need to run apt-get update to refresh the lists

But it is attached in the zip, put it in /var/cache/apt/archives and run dpkg -i linuxcnc-sim_2.6.0~pre0.4633.gb64082b_i386.deb from there

regards

That package is found in the "base" component on linuxcnc.org. Add this to your sources.list:
deb http://linuxcnc.org lucid base
