I have the turntable for 5 axes and a driver control board that runs 4 axes. Currently I am using only 4 axes. I also have a separate driver for the 5th axis. Basically all the hardware is ready, but I don't know how to connect it and what I need to change in the program to recognize it.
Can anyone suggest a tutorial on how to do it? It is my understanding that I need a separate parrallel port just for the extra axis?
Thanks!

you do not mention what breakout board or stepper driver controller you are using ?,
you need at a minimum 2 spare pins for step and direction either from the parallel port , or from a secondary parallel port
if you require limit switches you will need additional pins for these too
then modify your hal and ini port and add an additional axis ,
post your hal and ini files if you have difficulty

Hello,
You can also take a look at the sample configurations included with linuxcnc for a starting point. There are 4 and 5 axis examples.
