mother board with lpt was created by sandro_cnc
Hello to everyone
I'm using Linux cnc v2.4 in a very old laptop using theparallel port and I'll like to run a new versione to use the possibility to change te tool run the PWM control.
I have download the last versione but in all the computer (with LPT) than I run the latency test and give me error. Someone can help me to choice a mother board with LPT port to run linux cnc with a recent versione

Hello,
Have you looked here...
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Latency-Test
Also on older hardware 8.04 may test better, have you tested both 10.04 and 8.04 on the computers you have?
You can start with the 8.04 version and update linuxcnc to the latest current version.
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/common/Updating_EMC.html
As a general rule lap tops are not recommended.
