Hi
I should go over to the MachineKit forum
groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/machinekit
They are mostly running on arm builds of a xenomai kernel with machinekit ( which is a linuxcnc fork )
I know some have experimented with the cubieboard.
They will have far more info on getting linuxcnc running on an arm based board
There are some disc images available which can be written to SD card and used, one of these may be suitable as is
regards

Linuxcnc on the Cubie2 is still a work in progress. Linuxcnc does run on Debian using a preempt_rt kernel but there is no working real time IO yet or connectivity to HostMot2. wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Allwinner
We are currently working on a Gentoo install of Linuxcnc with preempt_rt that will use hm2_eth and /or hm2_spi to wok with a 7i90. SATA is working but the Cubie2 board has a hardware bug with the 5V power when serial and USB is attached.
We'll post the fix and more news as it develops.
