Hi
You need to tell us exactly what the error said.
Is this a GRUB error, when actually booting or an error when trying to install the boot loader during the install process?
regards

the error received was:
"Unable to install Grub in /dev/sda Executing 'grub-install /dev/sda' failed. This is a fatal error. "try it again?"
I was trying to install alongside Windows 8.1 and probably should pre partitioned the drive for Debian.
However, I just reformatted a 2nd HD, removed the 1st HD, booted from binaryHybrid.iso in CD drive, and chose the "use full drive" option early in the process. Installation was successful.
Thanks for helping!
