installing linuxcnc for noobs was created by leejones15
Hey folks
I inherited a Fireball v90 CNC machine, and I am trying to install linuxcnc on a desktop. I'm ok with computers in general (I can follow directions), but have minimal experience with linux (other than using ubuntu as an OS).
I have my bootable DVD with linuxcnc 2.6, but am getting lost in the installation process, particularly with the partitioning portion. I have never dealt with partitions before, do I need to set up a partition (with a program like EaseUs) before running the .iso? If so, what size partition?
If there is a step-by-step guide to installation out there (something for dummies with no linux experience), let me know
Thanks!
