New iso not installing for me. was created by tjamscad
From here 2.6 step 1. Download the ISO www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/download I can't get it to boot from a flash drive or DVD. Running on a computer with Ubuntu 10.04 when I try to run setup.exe it just give me an error message "An error occurred while loading the archive."

You don't want to run setup.exe. You want to boot up directly from the DVD or flash drive.
Do the following:
1 - Make sure your computer's BIOS is configured to boot from DVD or the flash drive. If not, it will just boot from the hard drive as usual, which is not what you want.
2 - Shut your PC off, insert the DVD or flash drive, and turn it back on.
Your PC should now recognize the DVD or flash drive as a bootable device, and boot from it. Now you should see the Debian screen with several options. I chose
"Install (Graphical)", and proceeded to follow the instructions to complete the installation.
Let us know how it works out for you.

That link must contain a bad ISO because it didn't work. But this one did www.linuxcnc.org/binary.hybrid.iso
