As per an earlier post you need the firmware for this.

It should be in the package firmware-linux-nonfree

You will be delighted to know this is another NIC which seems to cause huge problems on Linux.

Hopefully installing the firmware, will generate a rebuild of initrd.img and a reboot may find it

Download it on another machine, search 'debian wheezy firmware-linux-nonfree' and download via a browser.

Then transfer via USB stick and install with
sudo dpkg -i {fullname of package}

The dmesg has no trace of anything to do with ethernet or network, it is completely failing to recognise the chip.

I downloaded and installed per your instructions. It did not give me any options or ask me to install drivers. Here are new versions of the files you had previously requested.

Hi

The ethernet chip is not being detected.

Scouring the net, looks as though there is an option in BIOS to enable ethernet chip, this needs to be set.

Then source and install the package firmware-bnx2 by the same method as with the other one.

What should happen after installing is that the initrd.img is remade, so that next time you boot, hopefully it may find the chip
