Compaq presario cq60-202us notebook

hello - I was wondering if Linux CnC would work on a Compaq presario cq60-202us notebook. I an old one with a bad battery (battery removed) that I would like to use if possible - if not I'll look for another laptop to use.

Laptops usually are not very good choices for running Linuxcnc.

All you can do is try one of the live CDs and see how bad the latency is. I am sure you will need to turn off every power feature you can in the bios. But is still probably won't be enough.

Plus you will need some way to interface the machine, if it doesn't have a parallel port, your only other option would be the slightly experimental either net port stuff from Mesa.
