Auto Login - Debian Wheezy was created by spangledboy
I've decided to migrate my machine from Ubuntu 10.04 to the new Debian Wheezy but I just cannot get the autologin to work.

I've edited \etc\lightdm\lightdm.conf and edited the [SeatDefaults] section with the two following lines, but on restarting I still have the "enter username and password"

autologin-user=ben
autologin-user-timeout=0

Is there something else that I'm missing? This is all on the straight-out-of-the-box install from the Live CD.

I've built a virtual machine to try to test this but I've got no further - if I can't get this simple first step working then I'll probably just stick with the old Ubuntu install.

Thanks

Ben

Forget I said anything - problem solved

I've just tried this on my actual machine and it works fine - I guess it's something to do with running Wheezy as a virtual machine rather than physical.

Thanks

Ben
