I hope you guys can help me with this one too :)

I want to run Linuxcnc on my rpi2 :woohoo:

It would make for a really owesome compact and cheap CNC controller...

I plan to use mesa 7I80HD, or 7I90HD fot the hard stepping, so a preempt kernel should work here too, i guess...

Any prebuilt image to do this available somewhere?

Is any of you guys looking into the rpi2?

I have found this

www.emlid.com/real-time-linux-for-raspbe...pdated-apm-binaries/

Which is a system with rt preempt already installed.

But it doesn't have a GUI and i can't build linuxcnc on it.

Any suggestions?

At the level you plan to work at, I think you need to be comfortable compiling source from a command line.
I'd be interested in any progress updates you or anyone else might have on this project.
