Minimum Sytem requirement? was created by Holzwurm56
Hi,
I have download the LiveCd with LinuxCNC 2.6. When I boot from the Live without installtion the system works.
When I want to install, I get the after the partition routine "Installation failed". Does someone knows the minimum system requirements? Its possible to test the capability from the pc for installing Debian with LinuxCnc 2.6 ?
Many thanks for every answer
Hans

I think the minum system requirments are pretty much the same as the Linux distro that you use (in most cases at least). So for the Debian Wheezy based install that comes on the live image from Linuxcnc the minimums are a P4 with 1G ram and 8-10G hard-drive space.

When you tried your install did you try to customize the partitioning, or did you let installer do it? If you tried to customize it maybe you messed it up somehow? Is there a problem with your HD? If you can run from the live disk image, your system should meet the minimum specs, provided you have enough disk space.
