Today I decided to update with a fresh install but I couldnt get Linuxcnc to work. I have been running Linuxcnc on Lucid for years now without any issues.

First I tried live-cd and i noticed that latency values did not change (everything 0). I taught it was because I was running liveCD so I installed Linux on HDD but the same issue appears. If I try to run linuxcnc (even on a sim machine) it will say USRMOT: ERROR: command timeout.

Did i miss something?

*edit*
This was tested before and after installing available updates

The problem was that I had the CMOS date set to 2099.

I also had to remove loadrt probe_parport from the old configuration

If you instaled from one of the Linuxcnc ISOs there should be a CNC listing in the pull down menu at the top left like this.

Yeah installed off the ISO, its not there. I downloaded again to make sure something was not corrupted and I am trying again.
