I'm just getting started with LinuxCNC to run a CNCEST 3040T.
My first question is about the parallel port. The BIOS has 4 options:
Curiously enough, the BIOS shows 2 parallel ports even though there is only one connector and no header on the board for a second. The first one is set to 0x3F8/IRQ4 and I turned the second one off.

- BiDirectional
- ECP and EPP 1.9
- ECP and EPP 1.7

They should all work.
You don't need EPP but some ports have a higher drive capacity in EPP, so there is no harm in using that.
