Update from 2.7.0 to 2.7.6 was created by terkaa
Hi,
I noticed that I have 2.7.0 installed. And I would like to update to 2.7.6. My question is how to proceed? I just accept suggested updates from top menu bar? Also I have modified few HAL components and added couple will this update overwrite modified ones or remove added ones? Main reason for this update is that I have Mesa cards and VFD so I would like to avoid communication errors.

If you have an internet connection, yes, just let the updater do it's thing. No changes will be made to your configuration files. But if you have modified standard Hal components or other standard Linuxcnc files, those will be over written. It is often a good idea to save your modified files with a new name when modifying them to prevent these problems.

Does the end of these upgrades or it goes on forever?

It will go on and on and........on !
I use it for a long time and i have seen and noticed the changes, mainly the new trajectory planner and now on the latest iteration the axis<>joints separation and the new possibilities with it, and the overall speed of code execution now are magnificent. Until yesterday i was using 2.7.4 and it was great, but after installing the 2.8-pre, things got a lot faster and smoother.
So more updates, please !

Linuxcnc is FREE, you will never be charged for licenses or updates.

I have been trying to upgrade for 2.7.0 to 2.7.6 my run from the "linuxcnc-dev" folder without success.
When I run the following from a terminal it always ends up being 2.7.0
git clone git://git.linuxcnc.org/git/linuxcnc.git linuxcnc-dev
cd linuxcnc-dev
git checkout gmoccapy_5_axis
git pull
Do I need to specify a version somewhere in the git clone line?

I am no git master, but maybe the branch you are checking out is only based on 2.7.0?
