How stable is LinuxCNC 2.8? was created by PortlandGTS
My CNC has been down for about a year for updates. When I started it up for the first time yesterday, I discovered I had been automatically updated to version 2.8.
When looked at what changes were involved, I was pleasantly surprised to see that gantry support was incorporated into trivkins, as I never really liked gantrykins.
However, I am concerned that 2.8 is a pre-release, and 2.7 is the official release. I would like to use 2.8, but want to know how stable it is. Can anyone fill me in on how long 2.8 has been available, and what the general experience has been?
Thanks,
Tom

It should be stable and working. There may be undiscovered bugs, but people have been using various JointsAxes brances for many years, so there shouldn't be many huge surprises.
