What is the current Debian version to use with Uspace? What RT preempt kernel do you use? Just trying to navigate the Debian website is a nightmare if your looking for something other than the current version... however I finally stumbled onto this page cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/no...-including-firmware/ which has all the versions.

I have been using the experimental version here

www.linuxcnc.org/testing-stretch-rtpreempt/

I have used it on a few systems with no issues (using it on my main laptop too)

packages.debian.org/stretch/linux-image-rt-amd64
or
packages.debian.org/stretch/linux-image-rt-686-pae

I installed Debian i386 Mate then did and update.

I went to packages.debian.org/stretch/linux-image-rt-686-pae and don't see how to get the deb. I clicked on the dep: linux-image-4.9.0-5-rt-686-pae link but got "Internal Server Error

Following the manual I got this error
"sudo apt-get install linux-image-rt-686-pae

That is strange, I just did a test install of Debian 9 (Mate DE) on a VM using the net install iso. Then using Synaptic, linux-image-4.9.0-5-rt-686-pae installed just fine. (I did not bother trying it with atp-get.)

I'll try that or Synaptic in the morning and see what I get.

Thanks

Then I installed Linuxcnc and that seemed to work without a hitch. Once I got the Linuxcnc repositories set up and the keys installed. (I did have a little trouble installing the keys.)

Todd, thanks for the help. Took a while to get the LinuxCNC deb added to the Synaptic Package Manager, they changed the interface and now it's a two step ordeal to get one added. They don't have add-app-repository anymore lol. Anyway the net install did have the rt kernel so I'm up and going with that.

Thanks

Hey JT,

You can add the software-properties-common (sudo apt install software-properties-common) and that adds the command.!

Thanks,
Omid
