Why did you download and reinstall rather than just upgrade through the package manager?
(Synaptic will probably upgrade your new 2.7.0 version to 2.7.12)

Well I was so 'off'' when nothing would function (Lathe macros in 2.7.12) so I just needed a fresh start.
This is my simulation laptop and I have been playing around with GUI's and there was just too much 'garbage'.
No problems with update/upgrade but I was just so questioning to why suddenly the download was 2.7.0 and not .12.
