Possible to install pathpilot and regular versions on the same partition?

Hi,
I have a Cincinnati mill I switched from Dynapath. I use a pathpilot version for most of the work, but, I keep the regular linuxcnc on another hard drive. I usually just use it for servo tuning. Is it possible to have them both on the same partition or is it better to keep them separate? And if possible, how? I'm pretty weak when it comes to linux.
Thanks.

You can have many versions of LinuxCNC as "run in place' setups. But the only way that I know to make those is by compiling the code.
(You then run a setup script from a terminal window and then start LinuxCNC from the same window to run that specific version).
There may be easier ways that I am unaware of.
