LinuxCNC Version - Which One Do I Have ?

I've downloaded linuxcnc-2.7-wheezy.iso and installed the image on my PC. When I run LinuxCNC the version shows up as 2.7 and not 2.7.14 the latest stable build. And the graphics look dated/coarse. Perhaps it is the default video resolution set by the OS.

Anyway, how can I tell what the minor version level is? Can I sudo update the LinuxCNC install?

if you go in the synaptic package manager you can reload, then mark the upgrades and see what the new version is, or whats going to be upgraded
