initial login after installing was created by wireman88
Have installed Debian Wheezy from cd and it keeps telling me that I have entered the wrong password. This is my third install because I thought I may have input the wrong info. But after three times I think that there is something else going on. I can run Debian on the Live cd with no problem, but when I try to install I get the wrong PW problem.
I tried first to install on the HD with Windows on a separate patrician but on the third I went with the whole drive. Each time the wrong password problem. What am I doing wrong?

I think the most common fault is the first logging in screen looks like it is asking for a psw when it is really asking for the usr then the next one asks for the psw

Also during installation, do not enter a root password, just click next.

Did you get in?

The Debian login prompt is confusing. You need to enter the user name first, then the password. But (as mentioned in the first reply), it looks like it is asking for the password first.
