I am having problems with my LCNC and can't really find any help about it. Error message is attached. It is mint 17.3, LCNC 2.7.4 to a Mesa 5i25 card and then to a Probotix Unity controller. One day it worked and then not the next, no idea why?? My computer running it died and I put the drive in another computer, problem existed in computer V1.0 as well.

I would like to fix the problem but as memory serves it was difficult to setup and I don't want to go through that pain again if I do a new install. Maybe what I could do is a full new install and keep any config files and manually replace them to prevent the config issues?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ian

That config file is edited on a windows PC, so it will not work.
There are some ways of using it again but i do not know any of them, might wana wait for someone else to help.
BTW, do not attach office documents, they can easily be infected.
A simple text file is much better.

The config was running fine, no windows involved for a long time if even then. I think I bought the Mesa card form Big John, maybe.

I would try another perhaps newer LinuxCNC distribution, and _SAVE_ all your config files before you change anything, creating/tweaking these files is what really takes most of the time

There are rumours of issues with the i915 graphics driver and realtime.

Google for "blacklist i915" to see how to prevent that loading, and see if things improve.
