How do I add linuxcnc repository on debian

Hey folks,

I recently decided to get linuxcnc for my cnc mill and tried to install Debian and Linuxcnc on an old Laptop I still got laying arount.
Installing debian was´nt a problem but I can´t get the repository via shell command.

So wehen I try:

I get

in return.

The RT Kernel is running. But I have´nt been using Linux for quite some time.
Would be great if someone could help me out there.

First of all thanks for the quick response. Now I did as described in the linked page but when I got to the install step I got another error message:

So still no luck there.

Iḿ still trying to work out my install problems.

I got Buster running because for some reason the linuxcnc image did'nt install as it should (during install process the software packages could'nt be installed, so no KDE or GNOME)

I followed the instructions as shown here: Debian10 LinuxCNC install guide
Everything worked up to this point:When I tried to modify the files linux told me I'm not authorized (even as root, which I tried after the first attempt failed).
I also could'nt find LinuxCNC in the applications, so it does'nt seem to be installed, even if it should be, right?
Can anybody tell me what I'm missing here?

The guide is for installing LinuxCNC from source and compile it. Not sure if this is the best approach for you.

Maybe try downloading Debian 9 with Linuxcnc ISO - burn it to USB/DVD and install it.

Thanks but installing the LinuxCNC ISO was one of the instances where I could´nt install GNOME or KDE, so that option is out. Same with Debian 9 (no GNOME or KDE; even with bash commands). I also tried Ubuntu.
My last attempt failed when I tried to install LinuxCNC via KDebi: "missing dependency, libboost-python1.62.0".
So far that´s still my best bet, but I can´t find that "libboost-python1.62.0" anywhere xept for dead/404 websites

I have to ask, why would you want to install Gnome or KDE on an old Laptop? Maybe try installing Debian 9 and run latency tests first, before you spend more time on this.

@tommylight: For me it did´nt.
@0x2102: "Old Laptop" as in 10 years old, I do´nt see a problem there. My main goal is to get LCNC up and running to see how working with my CNC-Mill via LCNC is gonna be. ATM I dont even have a cloosed loop system installed; just good old stepper motors. For that I dont need latency tests but a working interface/machine controller.
So does anyone here know where to find a downloadable "libboost-python1.62.0" file? Maybe a link? I´d really appreciate it.
