Linuxcnc 2.7.14 not booting

Hi All,

I have tried installing Linuxcnc 2.7.14 onto my computer but i cannot seem to get it to boot on startup, after writing it to a bootable usb, i have followed the 'getting linuxcnc page'. I've verified it and used the dd command. When I restart with the usb it doesn't boot, i have checked boot options on startup but the usb is not listed but it worked fine when i installed ubuntu earlier. I have also wrote another usb on my windows 10 computer (how i did the ubuntu install) but still no luck.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Yes, have tried it on 2 PCs not showing on boot options on either. I have wrote a different program the same way to usb and it boots up no problem.

Have you checked the MD5 of the image you downloaded? Maybe you just have a bad copy and need to try to download it again.

Yes, have downloaded 2 copies on separate computers and done MD5sum on both and they both are ok. Should i try and download using zsync?

What PC hardware and what LinixCNC image?
The Wheezy image may not boot on some newer hardware

Its a HP Pavilion G6 laptop, i downloaded Linuxcnc-2.7.14-wheezy.iso

Not sure what vintage that is (there seem to be new and old G6 models)
but you might try the stretch ISO
