Hello,
somehow I am reading an reading but probably always the wrong thing.

I managed to finally install it on RASPI4 and on a Notebook with Debian 10 .

test run successfully.

I apologize if this is the wrong part of the community , so please move this thread somewhere it belongs.

I have a 7i76e and would like to start configuration.

Linuxcnc I can start from the console but not the stepper wizzard or any wizzards and not the hardware wizzard like described here
forum.linuxcnc.org/media/kunena/attachme...uction-ACrewrite.pdf

python stepconf.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "stepconf.py", line 40, in <module>
import hal
ImportError: No module named hal

I also tried to install the 7i76e tool which also does not work.
jethornton.github.io/7i76e/install.html

and I get on running 7i76e

~/linuxcnc-dev/src/emc/usr_intf/stepconf$ 7i76e
File "/home/user1/.local/bin/7i76e", line 6
from m7i76e.7i76e import main
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

so I got no hal files no ini files nor do I have the machine defined yet.

I am just lost now .... a view dummy tips for me please .... :blush:

I also can't finde the thread anymore where somebody provided his 7i76e configuration files ....

I don't know the status of Johns configurator but most people use pncconf for initial 7I76E configuration.

OK... Thanks...

I got all new installed... Finally I followed John's Deb creation on Debian 10.

Installed it and I got under applications in other the wizards of 2.9 available.

I am happy... Such a drawback... Now I can start configuring.

:woohoo:
