I got a new computer dell optiplex 9020. install with DVD failed it would get part way through install have issues then i couldn't even get into bios i had to pop the battery out to reset bios. Then I tried bootable usb got it installed. Now it won't boot. I am about to give up on linuxcnc. Should not be this hard to install.

Not being able to boot maybe an installer problem but even that may not be related to Linux but maybe a hardware issue. Dell Computers are usually well suited for Linux.

I'm sorry you're having a bad day. But you can't really blame LinuxCNC for not being able to get into your computers bios. That is not something you can blame any OS for because the OS is not yet involved at that point.I am about to give up on linuxcnc. Should not be this hard to install.

I think it is the half failed install on the hard drive causing the bios issues. I pulled the hard drive out and formated it. I wish there was a list of what I need turn on and off in bios.
