Linuxcnc 2.8 ISO >> 2.9 Master was created by robertspark
Question / Observation (I don't know if it's a "bug" I' let someone who knows decide)
Installed 2.8 via bootable ISO (all good / fine)
Upgraded to 2.9 / master rt-prempt via Synaptic
Buster (arch: amd64)
uspace: realtime with RT-Preempt, and simulation
deb buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ buster master-rtpreempt
deb-src buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ buster master-rtpreempt
Problem is, LinuxCNC disappeared from the Applications list..... I can still run LinuxCNC via the "Run Application" and typing in linuxcnc.
Just an observation....
(I did flip back to 2.8 and it reappeared....)
[Note I am just running this in a virtual desktop (VM Virtual box)]

I suspect it is to do with the "Categories" that are listed against the *.desktop items within the /usr/share/applications
(I fiddled around with mine and put them where I believe they all should be [X-CNC || X-CNC-DOC || X-CNC-REF]
Although I must admit I've not figured out to add additional folders / subfolders or menus / submenus)
