Can not install LINUX CNC
My name is Rui and iḿ new to linux CNC.
First time installing.
Iḿ trying to install in a old machine INTEL Pentium D 940 3.2Ghz with 2Gb RAM .
Graphic card is NVIDIA GEFORCE 7300 GS .
The machine as two discs 320 Gb and 160Gb , they are formatted .
I Download the 2.7.14 ISO the 2.8.0 ISO and the 2.8.2 ISO and Burn 3 DVD.
I can open the LIVE CNC LINUX and use for example the Latency test and everything with in the 3 DVD images 2.7.14 or 2.8.0 or 2.8.2 .
But when i try to install or graphical install, it starts reading the DVD and one minute after it freze and the monitor gets blank.
it happens with the 3 DVD images.
Any idea what iḿ doing wrong? Some very basic stupidity?
Any help is welcome
Below some information from the machine with the 2.8.2 ISO live DVD.

So i think that it may be something related to the hardware, maybe the processor 32 bit or 64 bit version? Or graphic card?, i will try to change the graphic card.

Now i burned another ISO he ubuntu-10.04-linuxcnc3-i386.iso and it is installed and working.
The processor is 32 bit ........
Is there any way to get a ISO from the new CNC inux in 32 bit?

Can you install the "vanilla" debian OS ? You could try for instance the 64-bit Debian 10 Xfce CD .
Edit: If the "vanilla" Debian 10 (Buster) install works, you should then be able to install linuxcnc and the Preempt-RT kernel by following these instructions.

Just burned another ISO debian-live-10.10.0-amd64-xfce.iso.
Try to make graphical installation and the same thing happened, the DVD starts reading and about 1min after it stop and the screen goes blank .
The live Debian boots ok, and i can use the Debian from the DVD.
Some information from the Debian.

Ah thank you Andy, the start of the installation is going well for me now, but it then blocks the installation of RTAI ?
