Just downloaded the linuxcnc-2.8.2-buster.iso .
Did it twice.
Both downloads are identical files (tested).
Both files fail the MD5 checksum verification
I utilized Certutil on windows 7 to download the file
Command prompt:  certutil -hashfile linuxcnc-2.8.2-buster.iso MD5

What do I do now ?

I also downloaded linuxcnc-2.8.2-buster.iso using wget and get the same MD5 sum:
$ md5sum linuxcnc-2.8.2-buster.iso
4496eae88a1d66f457205d0d5b69c3c2  linuxcnc-2.8.2-buster.iso

Where did you find the other MD5 checksum? I cannot find any checksum files at the download site, nor any checksums printed on the download page .

It would be great if we could get automatically generated checksum files on the download server, and links to those in the text on the download page.

My guess is the documents were not updated when the iso was created.

I think that's a safe bet. I forgot.

I am re-doing the RTAI .deb tonight, I will try to remember to fix the documented MD5 too.

tommylight , I did just that . Installed it anyway. And guess what... its working fine. The main point is' If anyone is concerned with security and clean install IMO it a good first step to verify that the installation is done with a legitimate file.

In the mean time I will trust that my install is OK.

Cheers.

I think that this is now fixed in the English, Spanish and Chinese docs.

The French docs are now so terribly out of date that I don't even know where to start.
