Trying to install Linux CNC buster for router with 2 steppers on X axis

Hi
I need to set up a new machine similar to one already running. It has two steppers running the X axis so I have Stretch 2.9.0-pre-1056-ge3548bc38 Stretch running on the original router. I have installed Buster onto the computer running the new machine, but I am not sure what version and repository I need to get the new router working. Is this the repo?
buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ buster master-rtpreemp
and
buildbot.linuxcnc.org/ buster master-rtpreemp (sourceCode)
Thanks for your help

Hi
I have now installed linuxcnc-uspace via buildbot.linuxcnc.org/buster/master-rtpreempt .
when I attempt to run a configuration I know works on another machine I get the following message on startup;
<commandline>:0: milltask exited without becoming ready
Waited 3 seconds for master. giving up.
Note: Using POSIX non-realtime
stepgen: not loaded
<commandline>:0: exit value: 255
<commandline>:0: rmmod failed, returned -1

trivkins: not loaded
<commandline>:0: exit value: 255
<commandline>:0: rmmod failed, returned -1
<commandline>:0: unloadrt failed
Note: Using POSIX non-realtime
LinuxCNC terminated with an error. You can find more information in the log:
########/linuxcnc_debug.txt
and
########/linuxcnc_print.txt
as well as in the output of the shell command 'dmesg' and in the terminal.
Also when I attempt to run stepconf wizard it says "you are using a simulated-realtimeversion of LinuxCNC so testing of hardware is unavailable."
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Stepconf default is to build a simulated hardware configuration unless you uncheck that option in the second screen. I missed that this morning when we spoke on the IRC, but when I thought of it you were gone...
I recommend you use 2.8 as it's stable and not subject to frequent breaking.
I recommend using the normal download in this link.
