I have been trying to install LinuxCNC 2.8.4 on multi-boot Ryzen 5 based laptop, already having Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 operating systems. I am installing LinuxCNC on a 50 Gb partition with 2.9 Gb swap space. The installation completes fine but on booting LinuxCNC, the GUI does not come up. I am able to get text based shells with Control-Alt-Fn keys. I repeated the exercise with LinuxCNC 2.8.2 and the result is the same. It is a kind of dead end and I am not sure what approach to take to progress. Any comments that help in progressing would be appreciated..

Start LinuxCNC from a terminal, might give more details about what is not working.

Thank you for your message. I will try to give some more details.
When I login after getting a shell with Ctrl-Alt-F1, I get the OS version,
Linux Debian 4.19.0-17-rt-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Debian 4.19.194-2 (2021-06-21) x86_64

The dmesg output end with initialization of the wifFi

When startx command is given manually, it gives errors.

The Xorg.0.log file gives error details.
