Hi everyone. attempting to compile 2.9 with any instructions results in an error:
dh_installdocs --doc-main-package=linuxcnc-uspace --package=linuxcnc-doc-de
    install -d debian/linuxcnc-doc-de/usr/share/doc/linuxcnc-doc-de
dh_installdocs: error: Cannot find (any matches for) "usr/share/doc/linuxcnc/LinuxCNC_Developer_de.pdf" (tried in ., debian/tmp)

make[1]: *** [debian/rules:108: override_dh_installdocs-indep] Error 255
make[1]: exit directory «/home/ddd/linuxcnc-dev»
make: *** [debian/rules:38: binary] Ошибка 2
dpkg-buildpackage: Error: fakeroot debian/rules binary subprocess returned exit status 2

Where can I get this file? it is neither in the download directory nor on the github repository itself

Try compiling with no docs/documents, it seems the German is missing.

thanks for the hint. I had this idea, but I haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Add --nodocs or --no-docs to the end of the build line.
It should be here somewhere
www.google.com/search?q=compile+nodocs+s...org&aqs=heirloom-srp..
Sorry, but on the phone.

Building instructions are here
linuxcnc.org/docs/devel/html/code/building-linuxcnc.html

Where it shows how to build the debs in the debian folder, do this instead
./configure uspace no-docs
Tos skip building the dos

I have "un-sticky" this topic as i see no reason for it to have been set as such.

Its good you are looking at relevance Tommy. As time goes on, a lot of the installation stickies are becoming obsolete so could be unstickyed to avoid confusion. Its so dynamic now, I've been keeping my latest techniques in Google Drive docs due to this awful forum editor
