Install on 64 bit machine? was created by sam2004
Will the Live/Install CD on this page linuxcnc.org/docs/html/getting-started/getting-linuxcnc.html work on x64 machine? Will I be able to compile Lcnc from source on Bebian running on x64?

Yes, it is for 64 bit PC.
It does not work on a 32 bit PC
Yes, you can compile LinuxCNC on it, although it is already installed.
And yes, you can have the installed (buildbot) version and a Run In Place version on the same PC/installation.

For 32 bit PC use the Wheezy version from here
linuxcnc.org/iso/linuxcnc-2.7.14-wheezy.iso
Edit:
Be aware this version and Debian Wheezy are not supported any more, they are very old.
