Installing LinuxCnc 2.8.0 Booster was created by JurisRu
Hey guys!
When I install LinuxCNC Wheeze everything goes fine.
When I run LinuxCNC Booster 2.8.0 or 2.8.2 or 2.8.4 as live disc - everything is fine. The network is working, the Internet is working. But when I install these versions - the installation stops at 'network configuration'. Where is the problem?

Use Debian BookWorm 12, it should be pinned at the top.

If you want to use Buster or Wheezy, when installing choose "continue without networking", or similar.

I had installed Debian 12 - unfortunately LinuxCnc was not there. And in general, the interface there is ugly and inconvenient!

To install LinuxCNC on Debian 12 you only need a single line in a terminal
sudo apt update
sudo apt install linuxcnc-uspace
Well, 2 lines
What DE did you try? XFCE? Mate? Gnome? Cinnamon?
Wheezy and Buster use XFCE, it is not good looking but it works.

I have a Dell Optiplex 760. www.itechguides.com/product-specs/dell-optiplex-760-specs/
It supports 64 bit system. What would you recommend - XFCE? Mate? Gnome? Cinnamon?
