Has anyone installed a 2.10 deb built from a git clone on Debian 12? I get opengl errors when I try and run the Axis sim as well as no pin found for a lube thing.

Just a guess. Is python3-opengl installed?
I have not built it on a PC for a while but have done it on Debian12 on the Pi a few times recently and people have run my image OK.
There are a couple of dependencies dpkg does not pick up. Watch the compile messages....

I’ve seen that as well, seemed to be some discussion about it on github but I couldn’t see if it was fully resolved. On x86 but that was about 3 weeks or so ago.
Pi seems ok
