our old pc broke we sent it in to get fixed and overnighted a new one but it won't run I/O through the extra parport to the plc, I need to remove 2.9.2 and find the download for 2.5.0 or copy it from our other router pc I need some guidance mostly as far as the re-installation process and where I can find a repo or source to get 2.5.0

2.5 will most probably not run on new Linux distros, mostly because of huge changes Python made, and other stuff.
But there are always the original ISO for download, thanks to some very nice folks making it possible
2.5 should be in the 8.04 version of Ubuntu

There is also the 10.04 version that should come with 2.7

where can I get 2.5.0 after installing that image I have another older pc with it on there I just don't know the process to transfer it, I'll try that image with 2.7 and see if that works better
not finding the Linuxcnc in either they just seem like disk images no linuxcnc packages embedded if anyone has or knows a repository with the older versions please link them below
Last edit: 23 Aug 2024 19:27 by Crimznn. Reason: misunderstood reply, understood links don't seem to contain linuxcnc

Those are full images with LinuxCNC included, they have to be burned to a USB then installed on the PC.

If the old hal files do not have any special added functionality, they should work in new versions of LinuxCNC and there is an included wizard that does the modifications automatically when you first run the old configs.
