Hey there, I,m new to linux and EMC2. I just set up a new PC with Ubuntu 10.10. It seems fine however I read it should have EMC2 packaged with it, if so then where to you find and open it. I looked under computer-file system-etc but I dont see it there. Any ideas?

EMC2 is only included in it's own distribution/package and that is based on Ubuntu 10.04.
Whilst it is probably possible to install EMC2 on a standard installation of 10.10 it is a fair bit of work as it involves patching the kernel.

The easist way to get a working EMC2 installation is to install Ubuntu 10.04 using the LiveCD (linked in the second box on the left of this forum)

Thanks, I misunderstood its availibilty. Do you think I could run a parrallel version of 10.4 with it and keep 10.10 for other uses?

Possibly. Is there anything you especially want that is in 10.10 and not 10.04?
