All:

First, I am extremely happy with EMC2 to date and I just wanted to say thanks.

Second, while I was able to successfully load Ubuntu 10.4 + RTAI + EMC on my laptop, all I really want to do is run emc2-sim. I can not seem to find it. When I go to the package manager, it show emc2-sim-dev, but when I try to load it, it fails because there is no emc2-sim package. Am I doing something stupid here?

emc2-sim is living in separate repository, not in one provided by install script
deb http://www.linuxcnc.org/lucid lucid base emc2.4-sim

I added the line you suggested to my repository list and successfully downloaded both the emc2-sim and emc2-sim-dev packages. I am feeling really thick, but I can not find emc2-sim. The only file in installed files list for the emc2-sim package is /usr/share/doc/emc2-sim , which is a directory that contains changelog.gz and copryright .

Since I am already bugging you wonderful folks, I was wondering why the emc2 and emc2-sim packages can not co-exist at the same time on the same machine?

Thanks,
