I tested in Debian 13 and got debian so I'm a bit confused and waiting for your test.

I just ran the live cd from Linuxcnc and they chose to not have the python3-distro package installed by default... you can install python3-distro from a terminal with
I'll add that to the requirements...

Well if python3-distro is a required package and also in the readme so not sure where you went wrong... did you download and install the deb with gdebi?

Using LinuxCNC Bookworm. Have downloaded file from packages.debian.org/sid/python3-distro. Not sure what to do with it.
Also tried adding linuxmint to Synaptic repositories. Not doing it correctly.
Some guidance would be appreciated.

What are you trying to do? Mesact is not in debian packages.Using LinuxCNC Bookworm. Have downloaded file from packages.debian.org/sid/python3-distro. Not sure what to do with it.
