Ethercat + step/dir signals was created by Ahmed.emara
hello guys,
i have 5 axis milling cnc machine with EL8 Servo with ethercat based communication and i hava DIEWE IO module which produces only digital output. I want to add another stepper motor with PULSE/DIR communication to move the tool magazine during the the ATC i want to know how to use this stepper motor with my servo motors and how to generate the PWM signals for the stepper in hardware connection and in the .hal file

One option, maybe the best, is to switch to an EtherCAT stepper motor driver.

The Deiwu I/O does not output PWM,
Rtelligent has one that does.
But as Hakan says an Ethercat stepper driver would be the best solution
eg Rtelligent ECR60 but Leadshine also do one now.

Experimental. Perhaps too experimental. I just bought EtherCAT stepper driver Rtelligent ECT60 and used my own IO card.Hakan's EaserCat 3000?

Hi Hakan,
I use three iHSS57-36 motors, which have the output stages integrated and are only controlled with step/dir. So your EaserCAT-3000 would be just right for my needs
Your EaserCAT-3000 would be exactly the extension!

You are of course free to try, all you need is on github. And I am happy to answer questions if there are any.
I just have no working experience with this card.
I did run the previous version in my lathe, so it is does work. I just want to see it work for hours before I put my stamp of approval on it, and it hasn't run for hours.
I do have working experience with other cards, I run the latest EaserCAT-6000 in my plasma cutter and it works just fine for hours, so the concept is validated.

I have been working on your EaserCat projects for some time now and am impressed by your work. However, I am having trouble finding sources for some of the components you use. I'm having trouble sourcing the U10 AX58100 and the Crystal Y2 NXK25.000AE12F-KAB6-12. I just can't find a distributor. Can you give me a source?
I have found a dealer for the BLM18EG221SN1D components. However, he does not have the BLM18EG221S parts in his range. What is the difference between the two?

Now we are stealing this thread hehe
I bought most from aliexpress, and from a local dealer that carries a limited assortment.
Ax58100: vi.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-ax58100.ht...0&sortType=price_asc
I hope that will give a list of several sellers, it does for me. Around 10 €/USD.
The crystal is a "passive crystal smd 25 mhz 3225", aliexpress have plenty dirt cheap
vi.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-passive-cr...e=total_tranpro_desc
Any crystal with the "passive crystal smd 25 mhz 3225" spec will work.
The difference between the ferrite beads is laziness or something like that. They are the same.
I wrote out the full spec once, and not the other.
As for substitutes, any "ferrite bead 220 ohm 0603 1ln" will work.
