Hello Experts,
Is there any readymade package with LinuxOS+RTKernel+Ethercat Master prebuilt.?
Can someone please explain the core concept of Ethercat communication compared to traditional step and dir method?
I was wondering what parameters vary from machine to machine in terms of Ethercat configuration?
For example, I have seen that the Ethercat module needs the network card ID when installing/configuring Ethercat Master.

Sadly there is no such ISO file, perhaps there should be, but alas, there is not.
You can install LinuxCNC version 2.9.4 from either of these links:
linuxcnc.org/iso/linuxcnc_2.9.4-amd64.hybrid.iso
www3.langdonstaab.ca/iso/linuxcnc_2.9.4-amd64.hybrid.iso

EtherCAT can not be distributed in any ISO due to licensing issues, as far as i know.

No, but the LinuxCNC ISO should already have everything needed for installing EtherCAT, see on of the pinned topic on this section.

Ethercat explanation.
www.ethercat.org/default.htm
Obviously parameters will be machine\ethercat hardware dependant. The question is quite expansive.
There is quite a good thread getting into setting Ethercat on Linuxcnc.
Good luck with your assignment.
