There is a feature
request
open for this since 8/16/12. It would be nice to have it in the standard release by now.

Developers list?? Yes I was amazed that this is not supported G84 & G74 are very basic canned cycles that all CNC-controls need to support. This code seems to work. I will try it tomorrow on real machine.

After manually finding correct lines from files here is a working patch for current master that adds G74/G84

Ok, the next step is probably to put that up on Github as a pull request.
But I get a bit unhelpful here, I have never done that, so don't know the process.
