That does not appear possible. Just scale the count back into counts per mm 
You could toggle bits 8 & 9 of 0x2040 to zero the count

Well, after pulling what's left of my hair out I have managed to get Pathpilot to play nicely with a Mesa 7I80HDT...I flashed the board with a custom bitfile, edited pathpilotmanager.py in the python directory...(removed the mesa verify bitfile and forced pathpilot to recognise the board as a 7i80) My thanks to Mesa electronics for keeping the registers and datagrams the same between the xylinx and efinity fpgas.

I managed to get my 7I96S to almost work but of course the transformer drive for the isolated output would not work...I thought about modifying the output drive to normal ssr's but didn't see the point.

Now I have 72 pins at my disposal..

If there is any interest I will explain in more detail, I suspect most ethernet boards would work depending on the types of modules required.

Once again, my thanks to Mesa electronics for a great product range.

so weit so gut doch sobald ich die 5i25 in den pci adapter stecke schaltet sich der rechner nicht mal mehr ein
die 5i25 hab ich auf einem alten Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H getestet da läuft sie anscheinend spricht das system falsche buss register an

haben sie eine möglichkeit zur lösung des problems?

Sie haben es irgendwie geschafft, die Mesa-Karte falsch herum zu installieren.

Beide Karten sollten Komponenten auf derselben Seite haben. Die korrekte Position finden Sie in meinem Setup.
Und hoffe, dass die Karten nicht wegen der falschen Verbindung kaputt gehen...

I'm working on this same thing - happy to see you've somewhat trod before me. Any updates on this project?

I am looking at using a 6i24 + 7i52s ... and as I'm scoping the signal wires I'm finding what you're seeing, but the peak-peak voltage on the PWM signals is about 3.3V. Are you hooking the 7i52s directly to these lines, or are you stepping down the voltage at all with any sort of level shifter?

A red light on 7I96S at power up likely means you have a marginal
5V power issue or corrupted flash memory.

and the red light is on on the mesa 7i96s.

unable to run pncconf. it freezes and says its not responding and asks if i want to exit the program. and the red light on the board is on and i am unable to ping the 7i96s. host unreachable.

okay, i just reinstalled Debian and setup the network interface and i am getting ping responses. and no red light. yet. i am going to go through the process of installing lcnc

i even used a different Ethernet cable to make sure it wasn't the cable and no improvement. there are only lights on the rj45 connector on the mesa board after i reboot the board. and i can get a ping time from it for a couple seconds then it goes to host unreachable and it drops most of the packets. i haven't installed ANY wizards lately. or tried to flash the firmware. if i can't read the board, i don't think flashing will do much good. at what point do we start to question the hardware? is there a way to test the board to make sure it is operation properly?

Feature request, I think.  for QtDragon, and maybe QtDragon_hd
How about a spindle inhibit, while probing?   
Maybe even with a probe installed?
Something like an optional input for the probe tool number on the probe page(s).
And a check box for spindle inhibit.....
sure would help.

Check that both RJ45 connectors are plugged in correctly

use a different LAN cable wired directly from PC to Mesa

Do not flash or attempt to flash the board with flaky connection, there is no need to ever flash the board if you do not specifically need something extra from it
Do not keep on trying wizards as there is no link

i did install the dkms drivers. what i mean by watchdog; the red light on the mesa 7i96s will illuminate as soon as i turn the pc on. when i go into pncconf and try to test an axis, i get an error that the halcmd is not running and i should invoke halcmd start to resolve it but that has no effect. also, i am unable to flash new firmware to this board. i have installed mesact a number of times and the firmware section is greyed out every time. no matter what i do. and when i run mesaflash --addr 10.10.10.10 --device=ETHER --readhmid, it does nothing. no output. i have to hit ctl+c to get my terminal back. i am at a lose here. i don't know why installing a new ethernet board would give me these issues either. maybe someone knows of a different setup that wouldn't be so complicated to setup. heres the error report i amd getting when i run lcnc; Error report created by /usr/lib/tcltk/linuxcnc/show_errors.tcl:

thanks for all the help. if anyone knows of a less complicated setup, i would open to any and all suggestions.

For what it's worth... I'm also just now setting up my Sherline 5800 NexGen Mill using the Sherline 4-axis Driver Box (PN 8760) via parallel port cable connection to my desktop computer with fresh install of LinuxCNC.

When I ran the Stepconf Wizard... only advanced each of my three axis steppers in single steps in ONE DIRECTION. Cannot figure out how to make step in other direction.

Do any Sherline Mill and Sherline Driver Box users here have advice on correct Stepconf settings for Sherline mills?
