Not quite as good as the first though...

Changing the PC would be my first choice as i can find used ones cheap, the "Enterprise edition" Dell or HP or Lenovo or Fujitsu have worked nicely for me, and so have some laptops like Lenovo T470, X1 yoga, Y370, but these are not guarantied to always work.
For now you can try isolating CPU's as plenty of members here had good results with it and it's easy to do

Still, the counterweight would solve your existing issue, and not hard to implement.

Hello from Slovenia

I built a 3 axis CNC milling machine. To run it I use a PC and mesa 7i76eu. They work well but every now and then I get an following error. To minimize this I increased latency from 1000000 to 1500000. Following errors are now less common (sey aonce per two hours of running). It is not critical but still it is anoying to rehome the machine. Is there anything I can do to optimize the computer and mesa comunication so there will not be any following errors.

I dont think the weight is the problem maybe more that the ball screw is fast. 20mm per turn. I got a good quality rexroth ballscrew so I used it. Because of the faster screw I used a stronger stepper motor 12Nm nema34.

I tried that syntax several times and every time I would load the code a validation error would be raised.

Out of frustration, I deleted all of the code and re-typed it. This time the code loaded without error and ran perfectly.

TLDR; Disconnect the ground lead in the plasma torch cable. Measure voltage between material ground and torch tip.

i bought a cheap plasma  Herocut Cut55i and i have machine plasma torch IPTM-80 like this
 
 

i try to do ohmic Hypersensing with a MESA THCAD-10 on my cnc table

Can you explain how physicali connect ohmic sensor?

Can i do ohmic ring something like that to the copper shield
 

or it is impossible on this type of torch and all that remains is floating switch?

Ich les mal mit, will von einer Eding CNC760 auf Ethercat und LinuxCNC umsteigen….
Ich will in Zukunft 1KW Delta Servos und eine 11KW Delta M300 FU verwenden, alles mit t
Ethercat Schnittstelle. Den Buskoppler hab ich heute bestellt ebenso ein paar DI und DO Karten….

-1mm might not be enough to move off of the switch so try -2 or -3.
If it still does not work, try 2 or 3.
Also, hoome sequence should be 0 for Z axis so it moves up before other joins/axis start homing.

 You can check the irqmask ( and grub setup) with this script



usage

first

chmod + checkmask,txt

then

./checkmask.txt  [ethernet_device_name]


You can pin  the Ethernet IRQ to the last processor with this script

chmod + pinirq,txt

then

sudo ./pinirq.txt  [ethernet_device_name]

To disable irq coalescing temporarily for testing:

sudo ethtool -C [ethernet_device_name]  rx-usecs 0

To permanently disable IRQ coalescing, you setup the RT ethernet interface in the interfaces file, something like:

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 10.10.10.1
hardware−irq−coalesce−rx−usecs 0





 

Any Idea why my Z Axis won´t home anymore? I changed the negative travel distance. But before i noticed that i can´t change some values anymore -> see attached file
