Using now linuxCNC Master which handles gantries much better and can home an axis with multiple joints or motors,
could this help getting gmoccapy running on gantries as well?

I have been working on gmoccapy and the new version is nearly finished.
It supports 8 Joints and 5 axis and does support all the Joint / Axis stuff.
I have also reworked the sliders, now they are much more touchscreen friendly
Please be patient, I will push the new version as soon as possible to master.
I will inform on this forum as soon as possible.

Norbert, this is great news to me , as i'm very enthusiastic regarding gmoccapy , and i'm building a dual gantry machine at this moment with two bridges, one 3 axis and one 5 axis,

This sounds good. Cant wait.
I am still on Mach3 and would live to move over to LinuxCNC. My machine is a XYYZ and could never get the two steppers in the Y working....

With the current development version of LinuxCNC you can arrange up to 9 mechanical joints and G-code position commands in any way that suits your requirements.

As Andy mentioned, yes it is possible, but because of space reason, gmoccapy only support 8 joints and 5 axis.
